Re: rear brake problem
I dont want to be too hard on them (maybe I am the only one having problems with them), but have you dealed with them ? I am sorry but the attitude is completely wrong...
if a client come see you with a problem, you do your homework and check everything. I have been to the service 4 times already for this problem, it was obvious from the first time it was the caliper the problem and they knew it (even if I insisted it was not normal they kept telling me it was rust, yeah right), they just tested their luck to see if a break cleanup and charging the customer for brand new rear brakes would solve it.... leaving the garage I knew right away the problem was not solved as I could hear the rear brake dragging. To make things worst the third time they blamed the hand brakes which is not even related to the problem (if they had taken off the caliper they would have sawn that the rotor was rotating normally)....
At all those services I watched what the mechanic was doing to the car, let just say they dont do much (what I mean is test different things, caliper off, caliper on, etc, to see if the wheel rotates normally).... for the first time they did a road test last time (finaly!!!!)
the other problem I have ...why try to find a problem with the customer right away. Why not tell your customer, yes sir we will check what is wrong and come back to you..... no they prefer to start questionning you right away if you did your services (which is obvious if they just checked their system!!!) and even doubt you did them.
spend an hour or two there and you will see that the emphasis is on getting new cars prepared and out of the garage!
I am sorry but the service is really bad, it is probably only me, but it still sucks. It is a shame because I like the Outlander, it drives well.

Re: rear brake problem
I had a similar experience with their service. One day I went there for an alignment as I did not have time to go to my dealer in Ottawa. First after getting the Outlander I noticed right away that it was even worst then when I got in. Went back in told the service guy he was nearly putting the blame on me in the mean time they check their computer as they are supposed to have the alignment saved can't find it at all that's when the decided to send a tech to do a test drive with me, not event 30sec driving it he could notice that it was way off.
I had to go back another day to get it done again ! Just to say that they are fast at blaming the customer instead of the poor quality work of their tech instead.

Re: rear brake problem
The problem looks to be solved, so far it looks OK. A brand new rear caliper was installed last friday with brakes pads ( as I have gone through them in 3,000km) .
I had a conversation with the manager, and I should get most of my money back. We are waiting on the warranty claim answer from Mitsu.
anyway it has been a painfull process for such a small problem.
My last service was much better than the previous one, thank you Rallye! at least I wasnt asked again if I did my services
cheers!
