Underground by Alexanian's? When is this rain ever going to end? At least it isn't snowing like it is on the other side of the country. I'm still debating but I think I'll still come...maybe you guys can help me test out my new security system with autostart...I haven't had a lot of time to figure it all out.

It was good to meet a few of you yesterday, despite the rain and being kicked off "private property"...maybe next time it will be
You were asking me about the security system and price...I'll start a new thread.

Re: October 9
I had a 98 Toyota Sienna minivan that I sold last year - 10 years old 150,000km. Never did any rust proofing or paint coatings or anything else except a couple coats of carnuba wax the first year I owned it. It spent half of it's life out in the driveway year round, and the other half in the garage for the winters only. It also looked like new when I sold it. So, my opinion is this. Parking your car in a garage, especially in the summer, will have a much bigger effect on your paint over the long term than anything else you can do, and no one every seems to mention that when they have this discussion. Short of that, a good carnuba hand wax applied once or twice a year seals micro cracks, blocks UV, and makes removal of corrosive agents such as bird crap much easier. And finally, since none of us will ever know for sure, anything you do to your car that makes you feel good was worth it.

I also have a 1998 Sebring that I wax everytime I wash it which is frequently (even in the winter). I've had it crowned almost every year that I've owned it (I'm the second owner, but have had it for the majority of it's years), and I've battled constant rust, specifically in the wheelwells/hood areas, and have paint/clearcoat issues, and I'm continually having panels redone...now I noticed to my heartbreak that the roof area is starting to show rust on the edges, and two more edges on the wheelwells are starting. So this is why this time I decided to get everything done. Nowadays, cars have less rust issues than they used to which is what I'm additionally hoping for. The difference here may be putting it in the garage in the summer as you suggest...the Sebring has always had to sit out on the driveway until just these past two years, and then I was able to put it into a garage...unfortunately the rust and paint issues continued, but maybe it was just too late, or perhaps the car's just trying to tick me off (and it's doing a good job).
I really like the paint protection I have put on the EVO...this summer I continually washed and waxed the Sebring (always sore arms/back afterwards as I do it by hand unless I borrow my friends polisher), and I just wash the EVO and it shines beautifully (the water just beads off of it with no residue spots) and you can actually see the protection vs my neighbour's new cars...I would have that paint protection procedure done again in a heartbeat as it's a real time saver (and time is money for me)...no need to ever wax again! With the rustproofing (if I did actually get it, but I'll make sure they have done it as we discussed in my other post--and thanks for your input), and the undercoating, that I got this time on the EVO, I will still never actually know what protected it if I never get rust, as the EVO will also be parked in the garage when not being used. I've also installed an electronic rust module for added protection but who knows if this technology works but as you mention, it's peace of mind that I've done everything possible. If this car gets any rust after all the protection I have on it, plus garaging it, I'm just going to
And I guess after having such issues with the first car, it may make a person go to extreme measures for the next...
