Floor Mats Comparaison

Post  Kadoogan on Thu Jul 15, 2010 2:38 pm

Hello guys,

I'm looking for floor mats. Here is what I have found so far:

1) Lancer & Evolution X All-Weather Floor Mats (Front only, 75$, protection: OK)
http://www.mitsubishiparts.net/catalog/?section=565

2) 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer FloorLiner™ DigitalFit® from WeatherTech (220$, protection: Awsome)
http://www.weathertech.ca/store/mvproduct.aspx?ItemGroupId=52&VehId=742&Year=2008

Should I go with the big price one, with a what looks like a perfect protection? Or it's not worth it for the price difference?

My thoughts on this is: We live in Canada, so if there should be place to spend more money on floor mats, it should be here! Because of all the stuff they put on the roads in winter!!! Razz

Suggestion/Comments/Personnal-Experience greatly appreciated!

Don't you have water/snow/salt on the edges of your driver's floor, under the WeatherTech mats?

its almost impossible, the matts arent just flat rubber, they follow the contour of the trim

I have a love-hate relationship with my Weathertechs...they are too expensive for what they are made of and it's certainly highway robbery for what they charge for them, but then they are the best and only option if you don't want to ruin your carpets with salt/dirt/water/sand, etc. If you have anyone that ever sits in the backseat of your car you will want them for that area too...almost no need to vacuum the carpets if you have Weathertechs in the front and back as they collect pretty much everything brought in from your feet.

well you will still clean the mats by dusting them off out side, i wonder if there are other members here who have tried other brands just want to know or is it all hands down weathertech cyclops

IMO it's much easier to pull them out and quickly hose them down, verses, vacuuming all the carpet area and then steam cleaning and then possibly needing other products to remove salt and stains and then buying an air fresheners for rotting carpets. Very Happy

I bought a set of Husky liners for my wife truck because I did not like the coverage that weathertech had and I have to say I was really happy with the quality it's the only other brand that compare to weathertech that I have seen so far. Not sure if they make a kit for the lancer you might want to e-mail them.
