DONT BUY FROM DONNELLY MITSUBISHI OR ANY DONNELLY DEALERSHIP

Post  CoAdY on Sun Nov 09, 2008 3:03 pm

I will not and I repeat will not want to have anything to do with Donnelly Mitsubishi or anything Donnelly for that matter. Worst service ever......

I made an appointment to get my car looked at at Donnelly Mitsu for a transmission problem on thursday 2 weeks ago. I asked if my aftermarket warentee would cover some aspects of the repair. They told me that my warentee ended in Jan 08 at 80,000kms. Then I asked the advisor well how come I got 2 inner tie rods fixed by the Ford stor under my extened warentee. He said "well i duno but your warentee ended in January. So I called the Warentee Clerk for Donnelly and asked her why my warentee was expired. She responed back to me the next day at 3pm saying "There was a miz up when you bought the vehicle, the person in charge of the warentee at that time started you warentee when the first in service date was recorded for your vehicle." Keep in mind that I bought the vehicle second hand through Donnelly. So she told me that she would get back to me after the Tri Care warentee company would call her back to update my warentee.

I left her msg. on Monday, Tuesday and finally got back to me on Wednesday saying "Your warentee is good until Feb 2010 at 110,000kms."

So I made the appointment for the next day and brought my Lancer in to get looked at. Thursday afternoon at 2:30 I get a call from the advisor saying that my I need a new clutch and some shifter linkages (the shifter linkages might be covered under your warentee). So I told him to go ahead and do it only if the vehicle is going to be ready for Friday night. So I call him back on my lunch on Friday and he said everything is looking good and you should have your car back on by 5:30pm. At 3:45pm he calls me back saying that there was a problem with the machine shop machining your flywheel and it wont be ready tonight, and I replied "you told me that it was going to be ready and I had a ride to come pick up my vehicle tonight". Then I asked if he had any loaner cars or anything I could drive for the weekend being that my Lancer is the only vehicle I have to drive. He said no sorry.

So I was out of a vehicle for the weekend taking the red and white limo (OC Transpo). So I went go pick up my vehicle on my lunch on Monday and they charged me the price of the shifter linkages that were warentee. So I told the misses and she reamed out the service manager saying how rude the advisor was over the phone to me and my fiance and how I was quoted one price and it was almost $300 more than what the quote was after taxes.

So needless to say that we got half of what the overcharged us back and I will never ever go back to Donnelly Mitsubishi ever again......

yeah they dont care about the clients, even brent had issues with them if remember, he ended up talking to Maureen Donelly to get his issue straightend out, pretty bad when you have to talk to the owner before anything happends

Ya NEVER again will I deal with them unless I have to. When you have go to the owner because of the frigging service can't find the problem and actually caused it.....let me explain this does get funny. My wife brought it on for an oil change and tire rotation and replaced a burned out brake light bulb. We picked it up and noticed a there was the "clunk" coming from the rear of the Endeavor when we went over bumps and cornered. We brought it back and the fun begins. We got a $2000 bill 2 weeks later (they had the vehicle for that long parts had to be ordered) and I hit the roof. They replaced the lower control arm and all the links, cant just do one side i was told had to do both and an alignment, still had the clunk, replaced both rear struts and mounts and another alignment, still had the clunk replaces end links, still had the clunk......so I get my hands on the vehicle finally and took it for a drive with the mechanic in the vehicle sure enough there was a "clunk"......I pull the vehicle over and inspected the vehicle.........guess what I discovered????,......this is the funny part....the idiot did not put the 2 screws in the rear tail light assembly and when you hit a bump the tail light assembly would of course make a "clunk". This gets a bit funnier wait....the idiot even left the screws in plain sight so I pulled out a star headed screwdriver from the small tool kit we keep in the vehicle, put the screws back and GUESS WHAT...NO CLUNK...I get back to the dealership and gave the invoice back and said thanks for the new suspension.......walked out. I get a call from the service MGR and we had a meeting with the owner. They said nothing as far as us paying the bill other than they said we don't expect you to pay, they wanted to know the full story.....I am guessing someone wanted to cover there tracks..... I still laugh at this today.....

Don't ever buy from from Donnelly Mitsubushi

Post  niknik on Tue Apr 19, 2011 5:56 pm

Not only am I unhappy, I am completely frustrated and totally underwhelmed with the service provided. Every experience I have had since purchasing this vehicle in 2008 has been either incomplete or not without issue. To date I have only had routine maintenance performed.
I am done dealing with the Service department, as each experience is EXTREMELY painful. The service managers are not in any way helpful, accommodating, courteous or able to offer resolution or pending resolution.

Upon entering one of my appointments, I was escorted through the bay, then the lunch room and it was explained to me that the last customer was so angry when he left he broke the front door. Well, I empathize with that customer because I understand how he must have felt.

I am transferring my Outlander to an unlucky family member and am currently car shopping. All so I don't EVER have to deal with such incompetence. I can tell you with certainty I personally will NEVER have the frusteration of dealing with Donnelly Mitsubushi again.

From A Totally Frusterated soon to be X-Outlander Owner

Yeah their service department is utterly worthless. Most of my experience got documented in the thread about the Evo I was looking to buy from them originally...

Their sales team is fantastic but I will never take my car there to get serviced... that said the only place in town I've heard of that doesn't have any major horror stories seems to be Rally...

I can totally sympathize with the person who busted the door leaving Donnellys...if I'd have continued to go to Donnelly's they might have had two doors to fix...lol. The salesman I liked actually joked with me the last time I was there and he told me that it was good to see that I wasn't afraid to go in and tick off a bunch of people and then speed off in my Evo.

Donnelly's service dept sucked and I constantly got the run around with no one there knowing the answers to anything "we don't deal with many Evo's" and then never getting back to me when they said they would and they even threatened I may lose my warranty if I didn't do exactly as they said cause it was obvious I was upsetting them when I'd confront them...I can't say the actual work they did was bad...just a rip off if they did do anything or sold me anything...they sold me the "special" PB paint pen for twice the price and don't get me started on that $200 oil change.

Just love Bank street Mitsu service dept...they certainly treat me wonderfully and they do what they can to resolve any concerns I've had including negotiating with Mitsu Canada on my warranty schedule. They even called in a body specialist at home to come in and look over a concern I had with my bumper...they do little freebie things for me all the time too. The trained Evo mechanic is the only one who is called to look after my Evo when I go in there...I personally won't go anywhere else. Love the 10%-off at Bank street Mitsubishi with the NCMC membership card which even includes the oil changes, any warranty work, or any purchases...10% in my pocket is a good thing. :

Yep, that's about $25/L for mobile 1...they were able to tell me on the vehicle inspection list that I may soon need to top up my windshield washer fluid level and I felt very good about the discovery...I had brought the Evo in for an "oil and filter" change to which I had been told previously that synthetic oil changes are "around $100" and it was only after the fact that I noticed that they also do a vehicle inspection with their oil changes charging unsuspecting Evo owners $200+ in the end....why would I need a vehicle inspection on a brand new Evo with less than 500kms on it????? That was the first and last oil change they did for me. I thought I told you to not get me going on that oil change rip off...it still hurts me. lol!

Out of curiosity what is an Evo/Ralliart hood at cost? (now that we can get inside information) Seeing as they retail around $1200 for unpainted metal ones without the vents.
